Carlos Ortega's Bio:
I believe that everyone and everything is interconnected: people, behaviors, products, services, environments, systems, etc.; and design is the tool that harmonizes those connections.
This portfolio is divided in three main categories:
Iguana 4 Studio. Work done in Mexico City, mainly in the commercial field, related to: trade shows, exhibitions, projects commissions and encouragement of several collections designed by the studio.Designed Objects. Work done at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, while pursuing his MFA in Designed Objects, where the main focus was to expand his knowledge in different materials, resources and design at it is purest form.Beyond Objects. This has become the transition between object-oriented vs. system-oriented solutions. Using design as tool for storytelling, forecasting, and innovation. His main interest is the potential of using: pedagogy, co-design, and systems thinking proving multiple solutions for complex problems.
